Anthony A. Luciano, MD, FACOG, FACE
Anthony A. Luciano is Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and Director of the Center for Fertility and Women's Health at the Hospital of Central Connecticut at the New Britain Campus, New Britain, Connecticut. He earned his M.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. After his Internship at Hartford Hospital he returned to the University of Connecticut for his residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology followed by a Fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
Dr. Luciano's research interests include reproductive surgery and adhesion prevention, management of endometriosis-associated infertility and pelvic pain, management of menopause and female sexual dysfunction, and the effects of hormones on bone metabolism and lipid profile. He lectures frequently on topics related to endoscopic surgery, infertility, endometriosis, osteoporosis, sexual dysfunction and menopause.
Dr. Luciano is past editor of the Journal of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists and serves/or has served as a reviewer for Obstetrics and Gynecology, the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Fertility and Sterility, The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, and the Journal of Reproductive Medicine. He is the President of the Accreditation Council for Gynecologic Endoscopy and past President of the Gynecologic Endoscopy Fellowship Programs sponsored by AAGL and ASRM.
Dr. Luciano has authored more than 100 publications in peer-reviewed journals, has co-authored one book on laparoscopic surgery and has been co-editor of reviews and books on reproductive endocrinology, reproductive surgery and the management of menopause.
Dr. Luciano has been selected among top doctors nationally for the past 5 years, published by Castle Connolly Medical Ltd., and has received the Best Teacher's Award by the Residents of his OB/Gyn program.
